Lighting support for your DOP and director

We work from your visual references, shot list and location information to propose the lighting support. An office interview may call for a compact, controlled setup; a larger commercial may need additional lighting technicians, grip and transport. We discuss those requirements before booking, including setup time and changes between scenes.

Lighting, grip and equipment sourcing

Our team can coordinate lighting and grip requests with local suppliers. The following are examples of the equipment categories we can discuss; individual models, quantities and availability are confirmed for each booking rather than presented as guaranteed stock.

• Lighting: Requests can include ARRI SkyPanel or M18 fixtures, Litepanels and Kino Flo options, with the final selection agreed for your locations.
• Grip: Stands, flags, nets, scrims and support accessories can be coordinated with the lighting package.
• Power: Tell us the location power information and any generator requirement so the appropriate supplier can review the setup.
• Transport: Equipment transport and loading arrangements can be included in the production plan.

A lighting crew sized to the shoot

You can ask us for a gaffer to join your existing unit or for a lighting team with equipment and production coordination. We agree the responsibilities with your production lead so that lighting, grip and other departments have a clear working plan.

This helps the lighting department discuss setup and pack-down time within your filming schedule.

We can coordinate the gaffer’s lighting and support equipment request with the wider booking. Fixture choices, power requirements and supplier responsibilities are reviewed for the actual location before the package is confirmed.
